A Summer Full of Rivians, Camp Kitchens, and Community

A Summer Full of Rivians, Camp Kitchens, and Community

It’s been a busy few weeks for us! We’ve been scouting out new products to offer on our site and meeting up with Rivian owners to see how they’re using their trucks out in the wild.

On our way to Overland Expo PNW in Redmond, OR, we camped near Mount Shasta—an absolutely stunning spot—and on the way back, we found a peaceful site outside Crater Lake. Both of these beautiful public lands could have been put up for sale under a provision that Senator Mike Lee tried to slip into the federal budget bill. After public outcry and pressure from outdoor advocates, he eventually withdrew the proposal—but it was a stark reminder of how fragile access to public lands can be, and how important it is to protect the wild places we all love to explore.

At the Expo, we camped alongside several other Rivian owners—including Jerry, one of our very first customers. Jerry’s in the food business, running Made in Taiwan, a Seattle-based food truck operation. So when we say he knows his way around a kitchen, we mean it. He’s had his Thunderbolt Camp Kitchen for two years now, and it still looks and works great!

After breaking camp, we made our way to the First Annual Central Oregon Rivian Club Summer Picnic. It was a blast reconnecting with folks we’ve met at previous events and meeting plenty of new faces. A few attendees were brand-new to the Rivian community, and it was fun to swap stories and share our mutual love for these incredible vehicles and the adventures they enable. We raffled off a few Frunk Bags and gifted a Center Console Bag to our amazing host, Lynn.

Over the holiday weekend, we’ve been enjoying a little R&R ourselves. We’d love to see what you got up to for the 4th of July—share your photos on Instagram and tag us @thunderboltadventuresupply or post them in our Facebook group, Rivian Camping Fun.
