It's Back. And It's Better.

If you've followed us for any time, you know that we try to keep things local. We get most of our parts fabricated within 75 miles of our shop, and we work closely with our partners to get the quality we demand while keeping costs within reason.

Bags were one area where we had limited experience. We use them in our Overland Camp Kitchen for storage, and we also make a handy bag that fits between the driver and passenger seats in R1 models. Matthew worked with our original bag maker to address the storage gaps he kept noticing in the truck's interior. The result had a spot for glasses you could reach while driving — handy for switching to sunglasses when the sun hits that one blinding spot in the sky. A pocket for campground maps, a bird guide, or whatever you want within reach when you're out exploring. And a handle that makes it easy to pull out and stash in the frunk when you park on city streets.

It was expensive to make. We sold them, but we weren't making any money on them. We eventually turned to Matthew's manufacturing contacts in Asia to find a quality product we could actually afford to sell long-term. It took a while to find a manufacturer that didn't require a massive minimum order, but we found one. Then, just as we were about to import them, a wave of tariffs hit — and by the time we did, the savings we were counting on had evaporated.

Around the same time, we had switched our kitchen bag manufacturer to a company we discovered through fellow outdoor brand SuperPacific — who make excellent pop-up camper tops for pickups, including the R1T. We asked our new bag maker if they'd be willing to take on the console bag too. They said yes, and together we made some updates that made it more functional and a little easier to produce.

So after being out of stock for longer than we'd like, the Center Console Bag is back — and it's made just outside Portland, Oregon.
