New Finds from Overland Expo PNW: Cooking + Cleanup Made Easy

At the end of June, we headed to Redmond, Oregon, for Overland Expo PNW at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds. As always, we were on the lookout for standout gear—and we’re excited to share two new finds we’ve just added to our site!
One of the first booths we passed on Friday morning featured a sleek new electric pellet grill and smoker from Pi. This versatile setup makes it easy to whip up smoked pork shoulder tacos (or whatever else sounds good) right at your campsite. We’ve long loved our DIY electric smoker—made from terracotta flower pots, a hot plate, and a cast-iron skillet—but this is a much more portable, polished solution. Pi is based in Southern California, and the owner takes his EV camping in the San Gabriel Mountains. This grill is made for real outdoor use—no clay pots required.
If you’ve followed us for a while, you know we love cooking great meals—but we also love finding great remote camping spots. These dispersed campsites are often stunning, but they come without even basic amenities like vault toilets or potable water. We’ve been searching for a bathroom solution that’s lightweight, effective, and low-impact—and we were thrilled to find PACT Outdoors. Their system uses mycelium (yes, from mushrooms!) to help break down waste quickly and responsibly. Smart, simple, and Leave-No-Trace-friendly.
You can now find both of these products in our shop—and we’re looking forward to sharing even more new finds with you in the coming weeks.
