Happy Earth Day from Our Little Shop

Happy Earth Day from Our Little Shop

If you've ever tried to schedule a pickup from our shop, you might know we don't make appointments on Wednesdays. That's because Wednesdays are Matthew's cycling days. Running a small business with narrow margins doesn't have as many perks as you might think, but we do get to set our own schedule. Except this Wednesday. We were here late last night, we're here now, and we'll be at it again in the morning.

On Monday, Matthew filled every nook and cranny of our R1T with parts that will become kitchens, sleds, and gliders. Our fabricator asked if he was bringing a trailer. Matthew's response: watch me fit it all in the truck.

We're working hard to get your orders out so you can get on with your spring adventures. While Matthew builds Gear Sleds, I've been unwrapping and inspecting powder-coated parts. Our parts room is so full I can barely move around in it, and packing materials are literally stacked to the ceiling.

We reuse the padding our powder-coater uses to protect parts in transit to pack the items we ship to you. We try to keep plastic out of our products as much as possible — bamboo countertops, waxed canvas bags, aluminum frames — but when it does show up in the shop, we try to make it count at least twice. It's a small thing, but on Earth Day it feels worth mentioning.

Happy Earth Day from our little shop in the San Francisco Bay Area.
