Coming Soon - Hayes Valley Pop-Up!

We’ve been eagerly tracking the progress of the new Rivian Space in San Francisco for years. Living just a few blocks away, we’ve walked by the location countless times. Back when it was Fell Street Auto, we took our Tacoma there for service. A few years ago, we heard the building had sold, and soon after, word spread that tenants were receiving assistance to relocate or generous lease buyouts. It didn’t take long to figure out who the new occupant would be, and calling us excited would be an understatement—we had just sold our Tacoma and were about to take delivery of our R1T!

The transformation has been a journey. Since we walk past the building nearly every day with the dog, we’ve had a front-row seat to its progress. Construction felt slow at times, but the finished product is remarkably true to the original renderings. One of the biggest changes is the addition of large doorways at the back of the building, facing Linden Street—a narrow alley lined with small and independent shops. What was once a long, unbroken brick wall is now an inviting stretch of open space, seamlessly connecting the showroom and service center portions of the Rivian Space to the street beyond. The redesign also integrates beautifully with Patricia’s Green and Proxy, creating a natural flow between the building and these vibrant community hubs.

For many Hayes Valley residents, Patricia’s Green and Proxy feel like an extension of their own homes. This part of the city is densely packed, and outdoor space is at a premium, so these areas act as a shared backyard. We often meet up with friends and neighbors there, catching up over coffee or simply people-watching as kids and dogs run around.

One day, while chatting with a friend at Proxy, I noticed the little shoe store in one of the container spaces was packing up to move. Curious, I struck up a conversation with the Proxy manager—and suddenly, an idea clicked. Could this be the perfect spot for a Thunderbolt Adventure Supply pop-up? After plenty of back and forth (and a fair bit of waiting), we finally made it happen.

We’re beyond excited to have this opportunity to connect with you in person and share what we’ve cooked up. If you’re attending any of the Grand Opening festivities, stop by and say hello—we’d love to meet you!
